4-H Building

The State Dog Committee would like to highlight the Minnesota 4-H Dog project at the Minnesota State Fair during the livestock encampment weekend on August 23. We are in need of youth from the 4-H dog project to be involved in the 4-H dog project showcase that would happen at the 4-H Building. This is a great opportunity to help promote the Minnesota 4-H Dog Project and we need lots of help to make this a success!

A “tentative” schedule for the day includes:

8 a.m. - Registration
9 a.m. - Informal dog grooming and public visiting
10 a.m. - Dog Demonstration on Showmanship
11 a.m. - Dog Demonstration on Obedience
12 p.m. - Lunch break (meal ticket provided for 4-H participant)
1:00 p.m. – Dog Demonstration on Agility
2:00 p.m. - Dog Demonstration on Showmanship
3:00 p.m. - Dog Demonstration on Obedience
4:00 p.m. - Dog Activities Conclude

Interested 4-H members are asked to complete the sign-up form and return before August 11, 2008. Participating youth will receive a free gate pass and a meal ticket, as well as a gate pass for a parent/guardian that brings them. Youth are encouraged to sign up for 3-4 activities that they would try. All dogs participating would need to have a form Dog IDA on file to complete registration.
