Restoring
"missing" clubs and/or members in FairPlus!
Overview
Because FairPlus! accesses 4HPlus!
data, and because of the Regional/County 4HPlus! data relationship, there are
potential issues of 4-H clubs and/or newly entered members not showing up in
FairPlus!. Fortunately, there is a new utility in 4HPlus! that can partially
assist in resolving these issues.

on this page are intended for completion at the County level. |
Missing club issue
If a club is not appearing in the
list of available 4-H Clubs in FairPlus! (on the Exhibitors / Items screen,
in the [4H Clubs] list) so that they can be entered into the fair, follow the
steps below:
- Start up 4HPlus! (not FairPlus!)
- Click on [Goto] [Utilities] [Factory],
which will bring up a warning box
- Click on [Cancel], which will
display a password field
- Enter the daily password:
- Hit the [Tab] key on your keyboard,
which should display a list of options (radio buttons)
- Click on radio button #45 [Clear
4HClub to Fairplus Exhibitor ID's]
- Click on [Process]
- Click on [Parameters]
- Locate and click
on the Parameter called [Last Used Member Key]
- Near the bottom
of the screen, enter the daily password in the [Enter Lock Overide Password]
field
- Hit the [Tab]
key on your keyboard
- Click again on
the Parameter called [Last Used Member Key] - a new field should appear near
the bottom of the screen, called [New Setting...]
- Enter [8000] in
the [New Setting...]
| NOTE |
If
after following the above process, a club will not successfully become
a Fair Exhibitor (it "disappears" immediately after item entry,
or another club appears to "take it over", then repeat the above
steps, but use a number significantly higher than the previously used
number (i.e. if 8000 was used, then use 8100). |
- Hit the [Tab]
key again on your keyboard
- Click on [Return]
After completing the above steps,
exit out of 4HPlus! and start up FairPlus! and the missing club(s) should show
up as available clubs in the [4H Clubs] list.
| NOTE: |
ALL clubs
will now show up as available clubs - even clubs that have already been
entered into the fair. In other words, some clubs may show up in two places
- once in the [4HClub >> 4H Exhibitor] list and once in the [4H
Exhibitor] list. This is not a problem - simply use the club that's already
an exhibitor and ignore the other one. |

Once the
above process has been completed, be sure that all clubs are entered into
the fair before doing another data update from the Regional Center, otherwise
the above process will have to be repeated. |
Missing new members
The other possible scenario is that
a new member has been added to 4HPlus! and now they will not show up as being
an available 4-H Member for entry into the fair. To resolve, follow these steps:
- Start up 4HPlus! and locate the
member(s) that is (are) "missing" in FairPlus!
- Make a note of the ID(s) associated
with the missing member(s)
- Click on [Goto]
[Utilities] [Parameters]
- Locate and click
on the Parameter called [Last Used Member Key]
- Near the bottom
of the screen, enter the daily password in the [Enter Lock Overide Password]
field
- Hit the [Tab]
key on your keyboard
- Click again on
the Parameter called [Last Used Member Key] - a new field should appear near
the bottom of the screen, called [New Setting...]
- Enter [8000] in
the [New Setting...]
- Hit the [Tab]
key again on your keyboard
- Click on [Return]
- Exit out of 4HPlus! and start
up FairPlus!
- Click on [Goto] [Exhibitors /
Items] [Exhibitors] [Individual (Normal Method)]
- Click on the radio button to list
the [4H Exhibitors]
- Then, click on the [ID] button
that acts as a "Header" on the Exhibitor list box on the right side
of the screen - this will sort the exhibitors by their ID
- Locate the ID(s) associated with
the new/missing member(s) - they are likely assigned to a club(s) that's been
entered as an Exhibitor
- Make note of the exhibits associated
with the identified club(s)
- Delete the "club" exhibitor(s)
that have "stolen" the new/missing member's ID(s)
- Exit out of FairPlus! and then
restart FairPlus!
- The new/missing member(s) should
now show up as [4H Members....] and the club(s) that were deleted should show
up as available clubs.
- Enter the members and enter the
clubs, assigning item as normal.
