If an Upgrade Stops Responding...

Upgrade Box

If during one of the Table or Record updates/fixes, 4HPlus! does not respond after waiting 5-7 minutes, or will not advance to the next step, the following process will be needed

Step 1 - Uploading a Full Set of Data Folder from the Regional Office

Windows should begin the process of creating a zip file - which will be named [COUNTYNAME.zip].  The ".zip" may or may not be visible, but the icon on the file will actually look like a little folder, but with a zipper on it. Zipped Folder icon

NetFiles Upload Button

  • Click on [Browse]
  • Navigate to the [c:\ckv\4hplus] folder and click on the newly created Zip file
  • Click on [Open]
  • Click on [OK]

This will begin the uploading process, be patient as your browser transfers the file to NetFiles.

  • Once uploading is complete, the browser window will change, and you should see your file listed in NetFiles
  • Close the Browser window if desired

To complete the process, send an e-mail notification to toddmehr@umn.edu that the file is there.

Step 2 - Downloading the Repaired Data Folder

Once notified that the dataset files have been repaired, access on of these two NetFiles locations, depending on your location

  • Locate and click on the correct file
  • Click on [Open] to "Run" the file
(note - these instructions are for Internet Explorer. Firefox utilizes a different process, but the end goal of "opening/running" the file is the same)

You will then see a "verification" message box

Winzip Run

Once the unzip process is done, you should then be able to start up 4HPlus! and see that you have the current version and all upgrade processes will be completed
