Minnesota 4-H Youth Survey

The Minnesota 4-H Youth Survey is part of the 2nd phase of a larger 4-H Impact Study.  Click on MN 4-H Impact Study to find out more about the larger study.  The Minnesota 4-H Youth Survey was designed to “test” our program theory (see below) – largely framed by the Keys to Quality Youth Development (revised, 1999).  This document highlights eight key goals for positive youth development, including activities and actions that adults can provide youth in order to yield these outcomes.  Analysis of these 8 Keys reveals six overarching developmental outcomes.  The survey explores whether youth are experiencing these opportunities in 4-H (as promoted by the 8 Keys), where they are in terms of these six developmental outcomes, as well as attitudes about school and community, risk indicators, and involvement in other activities.
