  • Group participation data for non-White youth in MN by county ranges from 0% to 66.5% with a statewide average of 20.8%.  The difference between census and enrollment by county ranges from –4% to +47%, with a state average of  +10.3% more non-white youth than would be expected.  Overall, MN 4-H has 123,431 (79.2%, compared with 89.4%, census) white and 32,449 (20.8% compared with 10.6%, census) non-white group participants for a total of 155,880 youth.

  • Group participation data for male youth in MN by county ranges from 27% to 69% with a statewide average of 46.2%.  The difference between census and enrollment by county ranges from –25% to +16.7%, with a state average of –5.1% discrepancy regarding representation of male youth.  Overall, MN 4-H has 83,936 (53.8% compared with 48.7%, census) female and 71,944 (46.2% compared with 51.3%, census) male group participants for a total of 155,880 youth.

  • Sub-group: Overnight Camping Program


    1. Participation Data for non-White youth in MN by county ranged from 0% to 94.5% with a statewide average of 16% of non-white participants.  Overall, MN 4-H had 2,910 (84%, compared with 89.4%, census) white and 553 (16% compared with 10.6%, census) non-white group participants for a total of 3,463 youth involved in Overnight Camping groups.

    2. Participation data for male youth in MN by county ranged from 0% to 100% with a statewide average of 41.4%.  Overall, MN 4-H had 2,030 (58.6% compared with 48.7%, census) female and 1,433 (41.4% compared with 51.3%, census) male group participants for a total of 3,463 youth involved in Overnight Camping groups.

    • Sub-group: School Enrichment Programs

      1. Participation Data for non-White youth in MN by county ranged from 0% to 65.5% with a statewide average of 15.3% of non-white participants.  Overall, MN 4-H had 47,198 (84.7%, compared with 89.4%, census) white and 8,497 (15.3% compared with 10.6%, census) non-white group participants for a total of 55,695 youth involved in School Enrichment groups.

      2. Participation data for male youth in MN by county ranged from 27.5% to 55.7% with a statewide average of 41.4%.  Overall, MN 4-H had 30,215 (54.3% compared with 48.7%, census) female and 25,480 (45.7% compared with 51.3%, census) male group participants for a total of 55,695 youth involved in School Enrichment groups.

    • Sub-group: Individual Study Programs

      1. Participation Data for non-White youth in MN by county ranged from 0% to 79.2% with a statewide average of 12.9% of non-white participants.  Overall, MN 4-H had 2,825 (87.1%, compared with 89.4%, census) white and 419 (12.9% compared with 10.6%, census) non-white group participants for a total of 3,244 youth involved in Individual Study programs.

      2. Participation data for male youth in MN by county ranged from 0% to 100% with a statewide average of 47.3%.  Overall, MN 4-H had 1,711 (52.7% compared with 48.7%, census) female and 1,533 (47.3% compared with 51.3%, census) male group participants for a total of 3,244 youth involved in Individual Study programs.

    • Sub-group: Special Interest Programs


      1. Participation Data for non-White youth in MN by county ranged from 0% to 66.4% with a statewide average of 22% of non-white participants.  Overall, MN 4-H had 61,198 (78%, compared with 89.4%, census) white and 17,286 (22% compared with 10.6%, census) non-white group participants for a total of 78,484 youth involved in Special Interest programs.

      2. Participation data for male youth in MN by county ranged from 12.9% to 68.8% with a statewide average of 47.1%.  Overall, MN 4-H had 41,536 (52.9% compared with 48.7%, census) female and 36,948 (47.1% compared with 51.3%, census) male group participants for a total of 78,484 youth involved in Special Interest programs.

    • Sub-group: Child Care Education Programs (19 counties)

      1. Participation Data for non-White youth in MN by county ranged from 0% to 100% with a statewide average of 23.8% of non-white participants.  Overall, MN 4-H had 1,694 (76.2%, compared with 89.4%, census) white and 529 (23.8% compared with 10.6%, census) non-white group participants for a total of 2,223 youth involved in Child Care Education programs.

      2. Participation data for male youth in MN by county ranged from 0% to 80% with a statewide average of 43.9%.  Overall, MN 4-H had 1,248 (56.1% compared with 48.7%, census) female and 975 (43.9% compared with 51.3%, census) male group participants for a total of 2,223 youth involved in Child Care Education programs.
