Information

Who:

4-H youth, grades 3-12, who have completed 15 hours of on-line shooting under the guidance of a certified instructor and 8 hours of wildlife education. Counties that attend must have certified instructors in 4-H Shooting sports/Wildlife methodology and safety or work with a county that does have certified instructors.

What: The Wildlife State Shoot event involves 400-500 young people in the following areas: Archery, Black Powder, Shotgun, Air Rifle, 22 Rifle, Air Pistol, Silhouette Fun Shoot, Wildlife Call and Wildlife Bowl. This event is designed to culminate the year-long shooting and wildlife project. Over 16 events are awarded to 10 places.

When: September 8-9, 2007
Cost: Registration cost is $10 and event fees range from $5-20 per event
Additional Information:

This event supports the state and national Shooting Sports/Wildlife project. Studies over the last 5 years have identified the positive effects this project has in developing life skills in youth.

Cloverbuds can not participate in the State shoot, but 3rd graders can partipate

Seniors that participate at the State Shoot have an opportunity to attend the week-long national Competition, which will be held in late June, 2008.
